Accessibility statement for CareScan
This accessibility statement applies to CareScan Ltd.’s mobile software application CareScan as a product available on Android O/S devices.
This mobile application is run by CareScan Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this mobile application. For example, that means you should be able to:

change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings

zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen

navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software

listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the mobile application text as simple as possible to understand.
The CareScan App is a native app built for Android devices. This means you can use the built-in accessibility settings on your device:

How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

There is no method to select background or foreground colour.

This clause requires users to be informed of any inactivity that leads to data loss. CareScan mobile app does not inform users of such therefore fails this clause.

CareScan does not keep the session data after a session has expired.

No context specific help is available.

Some images (e.g. CareScan logo and Barcode Image) do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
Disproportionate burden
Time-based media
There are no time based media in CareScan, thus this entire clause is inapplicable.
Adaptable
CareScan Mobile Application is not designed to cater to the visually impaired due to the nature of the application within the Operating Theatre, the clauses within this section and therefore not applicable.
Distinguishable
Nothing in CareScan plays automatically, therefore clause 1.4.2 is inapplicable.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
There are locations where a scanned product or a scanned asset can have an abbreviated text based on the source information not the CareScan Application.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was first prepared in Nov 2024. It was last reviewed on 16th December 2024.
This mobile application was last tested on 30 May 2024 following an audit carried out by our own compliance testing team testing to WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
